Founded in 1925, the American Machine Tool Distributors' Association (AMTDA) is a trade association dedicated to advancing the sales and marketing of machine tools in the United States through the distribution channel. The 250 machine tool Distributor member companies and 150 Builder and Marketing Associate members represent the latest in manufacturing technology and machine tools in the North American marketplace.
These companies encompass over 80 percent of all distribution sales in the United States and serve as a vital link between builders and end-users of machine tools and related products.
AMTDA offers a variety of programs and services to assist its members in 4 distinct but interdependent areas: Member Communications - ToolTalk, the AMTDA Network and www.amtda.org Education - AMTDAU, CMTSE, EEMT, and Sales Fundamentals and Advanced Selling Skills courses Industry Information - USMTC Consumption reports. These are all linked by the Networking of AMTDA, a powerful interconnectivity where members use one another for new ideas and benchmarking. The annual and regional meetings, as well as trade shows and Leadership Forums provide the framework for this.
