
AMTDA's "2005 Service Technician and Application Engineer Practices Survey," is designed for machine tool builders and distributors to benchmark their operations against industry practices on compensation and other operations issues related to service technician and application engineers.
Based on the data submitted by 96 AMTDA member companies (68 distributors and 28 builders), the results report findings are divided into three sections:
Section I -- Executive Summary;
Section II -- Summary data tables with graphs, charts and observations; and,
Section III -- Data tables, by question, with breakdowns by builder and distributor responses.
The 49-page survey report provides specific and detailed information about widespread industry practices including but not limited to: compensation, technical training policies and customer service labor rates. Relative to compensation, the survey report details hourly labor rates, by percentage, illustrating where the predominant rates fall, based on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
